FAQ: Credit Reporting
Stoneleigh Recovery Associates does not report to credit bureaus.
Stoneleigh Recovery Associates is a debt collector. We do not report to credit bureaus and have no control over what is reported. Here is a list of frequently asked questions we receive about credit scores:
Q: What will happen to my credit score if I pay/don’t pay?
A: We cannot speculate on the impact a payment or non-payment would have on your credit report, credit worthiness or credit score.
Q: Will my original creditor/lender report to the credit bureaus?
A: Some of our clients report and some do not. For the ones that do report, the client will notify the appropriate credit reporting agency of any changes to the tradeline as required by law.
Q: How long does it take to see an update on my credit report?
A: Again, SRA does not report to credit bureaus and has no control over what is reported. If your original creditor/lender does report, it can take 60-90 days to show on your credit report.
Q: What are my rights in terms of credit reporting?
A: Visit the FTC’s post about Credit and Your Consumer Rights.
Q: How will my debt placed with SRA affect my score?
A: Credit Karma’s post about How debts in collections affect your credit may help answer some of your questions.
